On admission fees charged by theaters, cinema houses, concert halls, circuses, carnivals and other similar places of culture, leisure and amusement
On the purchase of medicines in all drugstores
On medical and dental services including diagnostic and laboratory fees such as, but not limited to, x-rays, computerized tomography scans and blood tests, and professional fees of attending doctors in all government facilities
On medical and dental services including diagnostic and laboratory fees, and professional fees of attending doctors in all private hospitals and medical facilities
On fare for domestic air and sea travel
On actual fare for land transportation travel such as, but not limited to, public utility buses or jeepneys (PUBs/PUJs), taxis, asian utility vehicles (AUVs), shuttle services and public railways, including light Rail Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Philippine National Railways (PNR);
On funeral and burial services for the death of the PWD
Senior citizens are afforded the same benefits as above.

Basic necessities includes: rice; corn; bread; fresh, dried and canned fish and other marine products, fresh pork, beef and poultry meal; fresh eggs; fresh and processed milk; fresh vegetables; root crops; coffee; sugar; cooking oil; salt; laundry soap; detergents; firewood; charcoal; candles; and drugs classified as essential by the Department of Health;
Prime commodities include fresh fruits; flour; dried processed and canned pork; beef and poultry meat; dairy products not falling under basic necessities; noodles; onions; garlic; vinegar; patis; soy sauce; toilet soap; fertilizer; pesticides; herbicides; poultry; swine and cattle feeds; veterinary products for poultry, swine and cattle; paper; school supplies; nipa shingles; sawali; cement; clinker; GI sheets; hollow blocks; plywood; plyboard; construction nails; batteries; electrical supplies; light bulbs; steel wire; and all drugs not classified as essential drugs by the Department of Health.
No VAT discount on groceries covered above except if they are agricultural and marine food products in their original state pursuant to Section 109 of the Tax Code
The 5% discount coverage is limited to PhP 2,500.00 per week as recorded in your purchase booklet

PWD and Senior Citizen Discount Calculator

I originally created this app in order to help Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Philippines compute their statutory discounts anytime anywhere online. Since the computation of benefit is the same as that for senior citizens then they can use this as well.

To use, simply enter the amount being billed to you and specify whether or not VAT is already included in the amount billed. The app will calculate your discount when you click on the "Compute" button.

This app is built using Progressive Web App (PWA) technologies. This means that this can be run on your browser or installed on your device such as a mobile phone or tablet like an app.

This was built during the spare time provided by the COVID-19 quarantine in our country so please feel free to contact me in case of any issues or defects.
